Yes we will all die. If Jesus tarries that is a fact. Are bodies are not meant to last forever anymore. not after the fall of man. Great scripture about the Lords supper. Some did die for taking it unworthily. I think they were getting sick and dieing because they did not understand the power of the Blood to heal and save from sickness. So unworthily to me is not recognizing the blood of Jesus. So because they didn't understand how powerful it was there sickness stayed on them. Just a thought. Undoubtedly they took it unworthily and died. Thanks for the talk Great Man of God. I look forward to your other blogs. How long have you been a Pastor?Pastor Neilnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2923113346533157505.post-68276639608098365592011-06-25T12:52:49.879-07:002011-06-25T12:52:49.879-07:00Pastor Neil,

I would agree with you that sickness is not from God in the normal course of life, sickness is from the curse of sin on the world. God did not create us to die, we did that with our sin. Remember, Romans 6.23 tells us that the penalty for sin is death, both physical and spiritual. The spiritual death problem is rectified when a person repents of sin and trusts Jesus by faith to save their soul. At the moment of saving faith they receive eternal life as a present spiritual possession. However, the child of God is not delivered from physical death and or sickness until we get our resurrection body. I think you will agree with me that if Jesus tarries His coming, you and I will die physically from something. I might get cancer, I might get hit by a bus, or I might just die of old age (from where I am now that is becoming a very real prospect). There will come a time, if Jesus tarries, when I will be sick and God will not heal me. I have every right as a child of God to pray with faith and ask God to heal me, but it may not be His will to heal me if my sickness or difficulty is for my good or His glory. I would also point out that there is an instance in the Bible where God was the direct cause of some Christian's sickness and even death. Check out 1 Corinthians 11.30 and the following verses where the believers in Corinth were misusing the Lord's Supper and Paul said some where sick and even dying physically as a chastening from God. Finally, I did not say and I don't think I implied that God makes us sick to teach us a lesson. Sickness is certainly in God's hand when he desires to use it to chasten a wayward child.
Thanks again for your response. Iron sharpens iron and I pray we are sharpening one another.

RobertDr. Robert Ballhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07577072351559513963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2923113346533157505.post-27547456921349506252011-06-25T08:50:38.665-07:002011-06-25T08:50:38.665-07:00This was a good post. If it was Gods will for us to be sick then going to the doctor or taking medicine is rebellion. As a father I can not see myself giving or allowing sickness on my child to teach them a lesson. That inst the love of God. Yes there our difficulties in our lives and trials and all. but sickness is not from God. The name it and claim it has definitely been used and abused. But if it is a promise from God we can have confidence and faith in prayer.Pastor Neilnoreply@blogger.com
